Chapter VI

Somewhere in Eastern Iceland

September 2nd, 1919:

After a month of backtracking through the Earth, in Miss Rommel and Professor Beckett's attempt to escape, they finally reach the volcano they started at, and soon after, they hold a meeting with the public at the volcano to discuss their findings...

Professor Beckett: "Ladies and Gentlemen: what you are about to see and hear may surprise and shock you.

Three years ago, I planned an expedition, the likes of which mankind has never seen before: an expedition to the Earth's center; to see what stands under our feet. So with the help Miss Rommel's family's funding, the project started. While a team of my men scoped out the perfect starting point, which happened to be this very volcano, my right-hand man Rusty and I built a machine capable of grinding up any rocky obstacles that would stand in our way. We called this vehicle the "Mole". Unfortunately, we had to leave the Mole behind in order to escape the bowels of the Earth faster.

During our expedition, we stumbled upon several important findings, which we will share with you today.

First, we found caverns full of this mysterious crystals. In the dark, they let off light and glowed. We still have testing to do on them, but we may be able to harness their energy, and put it to practical use. And if not, they would make beautiful jewlery.

Second and even more important: these large flowers. They could possibly be the link to finding cures for hundreds of diseases!

Audience member: "Isn't it true that Dr. Jacques Omaha was with you? Where is he?"

Professor Beckett: "That is true; he was with us. However, his intentions were not what they seemed...and he fell victim to one of the many vicious creatures that inhabited the magma pits in the Earth's core."

Audience member: "So you want us to believe a giant 'monster' gobbled him up?"

Professor Beckett: "Yes; there were many different creatures there. Maybe our next discovery will change your mind.

And lastly, and most importantly, we have this creatures: it seems to be a half-monkey half-human subspecies. It also 'talks' in it's own gibberish, providing evidence that there may be more of them out there, and that they could be intelligent. We call him a "chimpus psychadelicus", or simply: the Missing Link!"

November 24th, 1919:

Shortly after they became world-famous for their quest, Miss Clarice Rommel and Professor Kane Beckett married; they realized they were perfect for eachother.

And they lived happily together, until their untimely deaths during WWII. But their discoveries will last on in scientific history...

The End.
