12 years later, Rory, now married to Kassandra Book, and with one child, decides to go to the Serengeti plains; the place they used to dream about on Mrs. Book's villa's pier those many years ago.

They take an old, beaten jeep and trek through the dry, hot plains.

Together, they see many animals; including a Hippo, Lion, and even a baby Giraffe!

They meet a native tribesman, a kindly fellow, who even allows Rory Jr. to ride the Giraffe, but the tribesman foreshadows trouble if they do not be careful...
